Block: Note: Some students ARE NOT KEEPING UP WITH THE READING! Everyone was to have read to p. 80 by last Friday, and had the weekend if they were behind. I had 4-5 kids today who admitted they were not caught up. They only have to read about 5 pages a day, Monday through Friday, so there is NO EXCUSE. They need to be to page 104 by this Friday!
Today they did the review questions for HOHH to page 80. They were due today.

Enrichment: We are still unable to go to the lab for keyboarding because of the MAP testing, so we continued the chalk pictures today. For those that were finished with the chalk pictures, we discussed warm and cool color values. We began pictures with a simple shape in the center of graph paper, and then used 2 warm colors to color alternate squares on the inside and 2 cool colors to color alternate squares on the outside (or vice versa.) These are extra credit.

Science: Today 5th period science designed an experiment to separate the 3 elements from a mixture of gravel, powder, and salt. After having their plan approved they tested their design. Everyone was able to successfully execute their experiment. Sixth period science had poor behavior and due to the fact that we had some potentially dangerous materials out, they were not able to experience the same lab. Instead they read about designing experiments and we made a group plan to separate the 3 elements above.

Cartooning: Today the first 2 groups presented their lead stories using the document camera. All students completed short critiques on the presented strips and shared positive comments and constructive criticisms.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT NEXT WEEK IS FT. FLAGLER CAMP. STUDENTS WILL LEAVE MONDAY MORNING AND RETURN BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY ON THURSDAY. THEY WILL BE ABLE TO RIDE THE BUS HOME ON THURSDAY, OR YOU CAN PICK THEM UP AT SCHOOL IF THEY HAVE A LOT TO CARRY.
