Hi everyone! Hope you had a a great 3 day weekend!

In block: We checked out House on Hackman's Hill, a suspense story. It has a mummy coming to life so if you object to the content, please let me know. Your child can read an alternative book.
Students need to read to page 26 by Friday. We also did the first 2 penmanship pages today. Students need 2 separate spiral notebooks for writing.

Enrichment: Today one class went to the computer lab to work on the keyboarding program. The other class will go on Wednesday. Don't forget to bring headphones if you have your own.

Science: We read and discussed p. 158 on the importance of scientific observation/classification, etc. We did the 3 activities - homework if not done. We spent the rest of the period testing the "how to tie your shoes" directions that kids wrote on Friday.

Cartooning: Today we discussed heroes/superheroes. We also discussed the fact that comic books and cartoons are drawn much larger before being shrunk to comic book or comic strip proportions. We began working on large drawing frames practicing drawing repeating recognizable characters.
