Parents: Please note: Every student in writing needs 2 notebooks and every student in history needs one notebook. These are to be separate notebooks! If you cannot afford them, please let the office know and we will supply them.

Reading: SSR, grade onomatapoeia worksheet from Friday. Discuss Hyperbole (exaggeration - I was so happy I could have jumped the Grand Canyon) and give worksheet - assn. due tomorrow.

Writing: DOL, discuss transition words for direction writing. Work on double-spaced rough draft of "How to do a Glass Etching Project". We are working on a logical sequence, including appropriate transition words (but not number words) and thorough explanation of how to do each step.

Science: Use resource books to examine and compare/contrast photos from different elevations. Discuss color, resolution, differences in what you can see from each different elevation from neighborhood to outer space.

History: Complete venn diagram to compare and contrast Athens and Sparta. This assn. is to be completed in class and turned in today. They need to use their packets and notes to complete this assignment.

Cartooning: Illustrate and color one character that you want to use in your comic strip. If you have not yet identified your partner (or of working alone), identified theme of your strip, and what type of characters (animals, people, superheroes, etc.) please let Miss K. know today.
