Progress Reports out today for 6th graders in my block class. Other classes will receive theirs tomorrow. Remember, they receive one EVERY week.

Reading/Writing: SSR, completion of advisory portfolios. Insert 2 handouts into portfolio on how to do presentation, and one to complete on what you will present for each section.

Science: Hands on sailing ship lab. Questions: 1. How do you know that the earth is round?
2. How did people 2000 years ago figure out the world was round? Students needed to complete drawings on their "ship on a straw" voyages on both round and flat maps. These were to be glued onto page 38 of their science notebooks, along with the questions above and their responses.

History: Pass out progress reports. Complete "Team Evaluation Chart" and then begin reading new packet "Fighting the Persian Wars."

Cartooning: Remember that a large colored sample of all your main comic strip characters is due by Thursday afternoon. We continued to use "drawingcoach.com" and today did a "skeleton" breakdown drawing.
