Week of 3/22-3/25

Block: Use War of the Worlds video to write a compare/contrast essay without assistance. This is an assessment. Continue to take notes on country for World's Fair reports.

History: Watch video on Ancient Rome. Choose a famous Roman structure and illustrate to the best of your ability. Label it and on the back explain briefly how the Roman's used that structure.

Science: Orally read moon myths with a partner. Come up with a moon myth of your own to explain what you see when you look at the moon. The next test in science will be on the Wednesday after spring break ends. Please see the study guide below.

Planetary Science

NO RETAKES ON THIS TEST. TOO MANY STUDENTS ARE RELYING ON BEING ABLE TO RETAKE TESTS AND ARE NOT STUDYING!

This test is basically on the vocabulary. The test will be in true/false form. If the answer is false, they need to be able to correct the statement to make it true.
1. Structures that look like ditches, channels, canyons and streams are called RILLES.
2. White lines that extend out in all directions from a crater are called RAYS.
3. Round holes or circles you see on the surface of the moon are called CRATERS.
4. Light colored areas on the Moon with lots of rough mountains are called
HIGHLANDS.
5. There are more craters on the moon in the
HIGHLANDS than in the MARIA.
6. MARE means ocean but does NOT refer to water on the moon.


Cartooning: Work on notes for famous cartoonist power points. Notes must be approved by the teacher before beginning on power point.
